Do you ever wonder what your version of heaven would like? I have found my physical form in reality on the streets of Notting Hill, Café 202 combines my love of brunch and fashion, with minimalistic clothing and avocados I will happily buy a season ticket reservation please. Unfortunately I don’t think it works like a football game, if only! The dream would be to dine there every week and pop down for a little purchase, maybe one day I can do the full shh-bag but as a poor student you just have to settle for brunch now. Enjoy these mouthwatering photos and see what Café 202 has to offer.
I don’t often to pop to the west side of London but I will be definitely taking more trips. The perfect location to stray away from the hussle and bussle of Portobello Road, I also find it to be more picturesque and peaceful, from the outside you have a Parisian vibe which is probably why I was so drawn to it. The interior had always won me over with iconic celebrity photos up of Jack Nicholson , Madonna and Ewan McGregor in Trainspotting.
I opted for the “202 Healthy Breakfast” menu, including avocado, tomato and spinach on toast, and a salad topped with a poached egg. My friend Casey stuck to her guns and went for eggs Florentine. The meal was light and refreshing which with some brunch menus I can find them to be too indulgent. The presentation was a work of art, it’s a shame I demolished it to quickly to admire the aesthetic.
The only downside is the price of the food, as a student I wouldn’t purchase this on a weekly basis but with taking into consideration the regal location, service and presentation of the food you can’t really go wrong. Especially if you pop down to buy a shirt £300, it’s not quite the same as popping to your local Wetherspoons for a full english for £3.99.
But hey!! We don’t want to leave this on a negative tone. Can we just sit and admire the tea-cups please? I am a sucker for any cups or mugs that have a quirk to your standard silverware or white porcelain. If you share the love of the teacups like myself I spotted some in Tiger the other day, so I may have to go back and grab some.
Overall, brilliant atmosphere and ambience. Great if you are in west London. Plus if you already follow me on Instagram you would have seen me post Wild At Heart a really cute florist on the corner of the street which is worth checking out.
Happy brunching guys!
